    Description

    Offering a
vintage 1950's ASTATIC DR-10S DYNAMIC MICROPHONE, upgraded sound, includes desk stand and cable
. Astatic Corporation shared some heady days with Shure, Electro Voice and Turner over decades. This DR-10 model might have been Astatic's attempt to compete with Shure's wildly popular 55 "Fatboy", and is relatively the same size. The design was attractive enough, but lacked in sound quality having a crystal pickup element. (Over time, crystals typically failed from heat and moisture, as did this one.) We have removed that dead element and
installed a new dynamic element greatly improving its sonic profile
    . The
physical condition of the mic is good
with only mind signs of use/age. The original interior wind cloth is good front and back and the pivot joint holds the tilt angle firmly. The mic head plugs into the F-11 adapter which threads to the
    included Astatic desk stand.
    The coiled cable is hardwired
to a male 1/4" phono plug
. (We can swap for an XLR male phono plug if you prefer at no charge.) The mic with stand is 15" tall, and the base is 6" in diameter, and is ready to plug and go!
