    Description

    This is a Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy carved by R.D. Lewis.  It is signed by Mr. Lewis on the underneath and dated 1979.  With it is a stand which he also carved which has a slot which the Decoy's keel fits into. Typical of R. D. Lewis Decoys, it is finished with a combination of paints and stains which allow the beauty of the wood to show through.   As we photographed the Decoy for this listing we noticed that the beak had been damaged and repaired.  It is a good job, but still noticeable in the photos and a bit of bad news for sure. We would expect this guy to sell for around 0.00 if perfect but we have no idea of its value with a damaged beak.  We have listed on eBay another R. D. Lewis Decoy, a full size goose, so we thought we would offer this one at a very significant discount to anyone wishing to purchase the pair.  Look this one over and see what you think.  We will list it separately for .00 but include it with the Goose for .00 plus .00 for shipping within the U.S.
    R. D. Lewis is a well known and highly regarded artist.  His work influenced Tom Taber, Leo Koppy, and possibly many others.   The Decoy is life size, 18 inches from beak to tail, and weighs 4 pounds with the base.
