Description
We have 8 large Sifam VU meters available, recently pulled from a Pacific Recorders & Engineering ABX broadcast console. The meters by themselves can be directly connected (without the associated electronics) to a line level audio signal, preferably through a 3.6 k ohm resistor. The meter assemblies are designed for a balanced symmetrical bridging input, so they can be connected across any line in or output of your console without loading down that buss. Each meter is driven by a balanced isolation buffer amplifier with a gain trim control. Approximate adjustable range of -10bdu to +6dbu to equal 0 VU. The buffer amplifier requires a bipolar (+ and -) 15 to 16 volt power source. You can probably tap your console's bipolar supply, or we have several power supplies available in a separate listing on eBay. One of those supplies will power many meter buffer amps. Each meter also comes with a metal black bezel and mounting hardware to install into a 3 3/4” (9.5cm) by 2” (5cm) cutout in any material up to 1/8”thick. Each meter also comes with three, socketed 12 volt LED lamps for illumination and can be powered from any 12 volt DC source. Or, you can change to a different voltage lamp, or you can change the LEDs to Incandescent. Like all things Pacific, the connectors of choice are Molex. Contact seller for quantity discounts. Here’s what you get:Sifam meter 1.734V
buffer amplifier
black metal bezel
brass screws and plastic tabs to hold meter in place
3 warm white 12v LED lamps with sockets
Molex 3 pin connector and cable for audio
Molex 5 pin connector and cable for amp and lamp power
Update 6/21, I decided to disassemble another console and sell the components individually. Four more meters now available as well as many other audio modules. Contact seller for availability of PR&E BMX III items.
