Large 1945 No. 4 US Union Jack 48 Star Flag - Mare Island Flag (9ft x 6ft)
World War 2 (WW2) US Navy Canton Flag
Made by the Naval Station located on Mare Island (Vallejo, California)
The heading has a stamp that reads:
Union Jack No. 4 MI 45
MI = Mare Island
45 =  1945
This flag was not made with grommets.  It was made with a Roped Heading (rope passing through the heading and secured at each end) which was used for large, outdoor flags.
Materials:
Wool and cotton.
The flag fly is made of wool and the heading is made of canvas cotton.
The stars are stitched on both sides of the flag.

110 inches x 74 inches
