    Description

This is a vintage Mid Century Coble Dairy Bottle, one pint, with applied green label on front and back.  The square milk bottle likely dates between the late 1930s and early 1950s.  The base of the bottle is embossed "One Pint", "Sealed ?52S", "Liquid", "5 Rec". There is an embossed "6" within a circle on the bottom.
The Coble Dairy started in Lexington, NC in 1934 and expanded over the years to having processing plants and distribution centers in 7 states.  The company ceased operation in 1995.  My father, an avid bottle hunter, found the bottle more than 40 years ago in the ruins of an old home in Virginia.  The vintage Coble Milk bottle is in great shape for its age, free from breaks or cracks.  There are some scratches in the glass from exposure.  The green labeling (enamel?) has worn away in some spots but is still legible.  (see photos)  Clarity is nice for a dug bottle.  The old NC dairy bottle measures about 7" tall and 2.5" wide.
