    Description

    Here's a nice quart milk bottle from the California Gold Country town of Ione  (located near Fiddletown, Jackson, Sutter Creek, Dry Creek).  This one has the Red Pyro lettering on both sides.  The front says:
    MILLER'S DAIRY   IONE, CALIF.
    The back has a graphic
    SHIELD
    with
    WINGS & STAR
    emblem above that resembles a patch on a military uniform). Within the shield it says:
    MILK  THE FIRST LINE OF HEALTH DEFENSE
    .   Could be WWII or right afterwards, since the mention of "First Line", Defense, etc...
